The research was carried out at eleventh (XI) grade of SMAN 2 Trenggalek. The total number of samples for this research were 67 students, 34 from XI MIPA-4 (experimental group) and 33 from XI MIPA-5 (control group). However, the total number of students participating in this research were 30 students in each class. The researcher used spoken test to know the students’ speaking ability. The data collected were presented on Paired Sample T-test. Based on the paired sample T-Test result, it was found that the significance value (2-tailed) of the research is 0.00 < 0.05. Related to the result, it means that Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that Gallery Walk Technique has significant effect on students’ speaking ability.

Selvia Andani Astried Damayanti Astried Wawan Prasetyo Copyright (c) 2023 Selvia Andani, Astried Damayanti Astried, Wawan Prasetyo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-30 2023-11-30 6 2 1 8 Issues in Listening Section Faced by Medical Record and Health Information Students in TOEIC Preparation Class https://jurnal.stkippgritrenggalek.ac.id/index.php/lingua/article/view/658
This study aims at figuring out issues in listening section faced by medical record and health information (RMIK) students during their study in TOEIC Preparation Class. Accordingly, the issues to be discussed cover common errors and causes of those errors made by the students. Accordingly, by finding out those issues, the solution to overcome them could be figured out and suggested. The method used in this study was qualitative method, by giving a TOEIC Preparation Test, specified in listening section to 44 respondents. The listening test consists of 4 parts, Photographs, Question and Response, Conversation, and Short Talks. This study found that there were wrong answered given by the students in the Photographs part (30%), Question and Response part (23%), Conversation part (20%), and Short Talks (43%). This indicates that Short Talks part might be the most difficult part in the listening section encountered by the students. In contrast, the Conversation part is the easiest phase for them, followed by Question and Response part. After further analysis, it can be concluded that the causes of students’ difficulties in Short Talks part were the length and speed of the speech. Realizing the issue, better teaching strategies and learning styles are expected to get the best achievement as well as to improve students’ listening skill.

Palupi Susilowati Atik Ulinuha Yeni Nurmala Hidayati Copyright (c) 2023 Palupi Susilowati, Atik Ulinuha , Yeni Nurmala Hidayati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-30 2023-11-30 6 2 9 18 Modifying Traditional Game to Promote EFL Students’ Achievement in Learning Procedure Text: A Research and Development https://jurnal.stkippgritrenggalek.ac.id/index.php/lingua/article/view/669
This study aimed to promote EFL students’ learning outcomes in the English learning process by using a modified traditional game method. This research used Research and Development method with quasi-experimental research design in the form of nonrandomized control group pretest posttest. The sample of this study were students of class X Modeling Design and Building Information from Vocational High School 2 Trenggalek which consisted of 34 students as a control class and 35 as an experimental class. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, interviews, and tests. Data collected by questionnaires and tests were analyzed quantitatively, and data collected through interviews were analyzed qualitatively. The result of field testing of the product by incorporating t-test with Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000 <0.05 hence H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, there was a significant difference between the average students learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class, meaning that the traditional modified game-based learning strategy could improve students’ learning outcomes in learning procedure text. Insights gained from this research can inspire EFL teachers to start modifying the existing traditional games in their context in to be implemented in their EFL TLP.
Mifta Kurosidah Yudi Basuki Copyright (c) 2023 Mifta Kurosidah, Yudi Basuki https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-30 2023-11-30 6 2 19 28 The Implementation of Project Based Learning in Teaching Writing to The Tenth Grade Students in 2022/2023 Academic Year https://jurnal.stkippgritrenggalek.ac.id/index.php/lingua/article/view/594
This research objectives are to find out and describe the objectives, procedures, and evidences in implementation of Project Based Learning in Teaching Writing.
